Today, roughly half of our business is comprised of custom pieces, made to order for a single individual, family, or organization. We like to think that if you can dream it, we can build it. So go on, dream away... our design team is ready help make them a reality.

The Process

THE PROCESS

Designing and ordering a custom piece can take many forms, and we encourage our customers to be as hands-on or hands-off as they'd like. We offer a full range of design services that extend beyond the size and shape of the item, from concept through execution. Use the guidelines below as inspiration and keep in mind... anything is possible!

Step 1

PICK YOUR PIECE

Start with the basics: is it a table, a desk, a countertop, or a freestanding island? Draw inspiration from our core product line or share your ideas for something completely different.

Step 2

SELECT YOUR WOOD

Created™ stocks hundreds of slabs of wood in a variety of species and grades, each with their own set of characteristics, availability, and price points. Browse our inventory of finished slabs. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Request a special order! Contact us here.

In addition to the wood’s species and grade, the cut and finish can contribute to the overall look of the piece and also affect the total cost. Consider all options up front and narrow them down to fit your style and budget.

Bronze Grade: VE price point, varying width multi-plank solid wood composition, made to order specification (size and species). Slab selection N/A.

Silver Grade: Mid price point, medium to high character, solid or bookmatch composition. Slab selection N/A.

Gold Grade: Premium price point, medium to high character, solid or bookmatch composition. Slab selection available, typically up to three options pending availability.

Step 3

SELECT YOUR BASE DESIGN

In addition to the wood, our bases and hardware often contribute to the overall effect of the piece with a number of styles and finishes available. Browse our proprietary designs for commercial table bases or residential table bases, or request a custom design.

Step 4

CHOOSE YOUR SIZE

The majority of our custom orders are comprised of off-sized versions of core line products. We stock slabs that range in length from 5 feet to 25 feet long and can accommodate any length in between. While widths are often determined by the size of our available inventory, our products can be made to varying widths with book matching and other joinery methods. Heights are often determined by hardware which can be made to custom specifications. Case goods including credenzas and cabinets come in standard sizes but can also be made to various lengths, widths, depths, and heights.

Step 5

SELECT YOUR DELIVERY METHOD

Our standard turnaround time for custom pieces is 9-11 weeks. However, we do our best to accommodate special needs of our customers. Due to space limitations and damage liability, additional fees may apply for storage at our facilities.

We deliver anywhere in the US and Canada and offer several delivery methods ranging from in-store pickup to in-home white glove delivery and assembly, depending on the customers’ needs and budget. We’re happy to include a shipping quote with the estimated cost of the project.

Please note: Slab selection (Gold Grade ONLY) and design approvals are sent once we receive the order and deposit. Allow for 1-2 weeks for any design approvals to be carefully made.
